Gorizia) it continues its way through the North Italian lowlands until Trieste, where it enters the Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Slovenian part of the river, you can enjoy crystal clear, turquoise water, embedded in splendid karst mountains. No matter how much fun an outdoor vacation is, there\u2019s always a certain point in time when you need to recover. But even for such an occasion So\u010da Valley has a solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During World War I So\u010da River was the frontline between Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, which was heavily embattled. In Kobarid there\u2019s a highly rewarded museum dealing with this recent history. Even during bike trips or while hiking there\u2019re some war memorials to discover marking the former battlefields or war graves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from an extra history lesson, you can use your day off for some of So\u010da Valley\u2019s gastronomic highlights. There\u2019re many highly idyllic camping sites in So\u010da Valley. Some of them are located right next to the river (bathing place inclusive) or in Triglav national park\u2019s primal nature. Of course, tastes are different \u2013 but you\u2019ll witness Slovenia\u2019s hospitality either way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
